Southern Shutter Company 1 3⁄8" Heavy Duty Recessed Stile & Rail, fixed louver wood shutters, Our intermediate product line. All fixed louvered shutter lines can be crossed with their sister paneled shutter, to create louver panel combinations in all five panel variations. Western Red Cedar, a naturally decay resistant wood, is the preferred choice for this exterior shutter application. Straight and light in weight, nothing matches the performance of Western Red Cedar. Note: For shutter heights over 65" two section construction (mid rail) is required or warranty will be void.

These caps are used primarily as a decorative touch but do protect the end grain of the shutter as well. Copper Caps are shipped loose and should be applied after finishing with an exterior grade construction adhesive. Western Red Cedar Has been our choice material for over 45 years. Naturally decay resistant, light weight, straight and it has the lowest expansion ratio of any species. The tight grain of old growth Western Red Cedar is unmatched for stability.

Each shutter is sanded, primed with two coats of oil-based primer and hand sanded again. Then the shutters are finished with a top quality exterior paint of your choice. * All color finishes may be matched to your national brand of paint by supplying the manufacturer's brand name and color number or code and sheen.

Heavy Duty True Louver Western Red Cedar Exterior Shutter

The 1-3/8” thick heavy-duty true louver shutter is built using heavier stiles, rails and slats than many shutters and is ideal for any home that demands superior quality. Our crafsmen use Mortise & Tennon Construction using hand selected Western Red Cedar for superior exterior wood louvered shutters. The design features a beaded stile with recessed rails, giving this shutter a distinctive appearance capable of enhancing the character of any home. Hand selected Western Red Cedar, a naturally decay-resistant wood, is choice for this application. Straight and light in weight, nothing matches the performance of Western Red Cedar. Semi-transparent and solid color stains are an excellent finish. When painted, a good quality, fast drying, oil based primer should be used. Left unfinished cedar will silver and remain maintenance free.

Heavy-duty true louvers lend themselves to a variety of hanging options, which can be completed with hinges and tie-backs from our full line of hard-to-find hardware.

WARRANTY: The manufacturer warrants these shutters with a limited lifetime warranty against any manufacturer defect in construction for the life of the shutter . Warranty covers the raw shutter; it does not cover any cost incurred in the finishing or hanging of the shutters.
